Two Nutrients That Fight Alzheimer’s

If you want to lower your risk of losing your mind to Alzheimer’s, researchers believe you should be consuming two common nutrients that help the brain keep itself clear of memory-damaging plaque. Right now, most of us don’t consume enough of them.
Researchers at UCLA have found that vitamin D3 and omega-3 fatty acids (found in fatty fish) enhance your immune system’s ability to clear the brain of amyloid plaques, one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease.
“Our new study sheds further light on a possible role for nutritional substances such as vitamin D3 and omega-3 in boosting immunity to help fight Alzheimer’s,” says study author Dr. Milan Fiala, a researcher at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
