Bottled Iced Tea

The dirt: Everybody is getting into the iced tea business, all thanks to dozens of studies touting tea's seemingly unending list of health benefits. But Men's Health magazine asked an independent lab to analyze different premade tea brands for levels of catechins, the antioxidants that prevent a whole host of diseases. The lab's findings: Catechin levels varied widely, as a result of the different types of unfermented leaves and brewing methods used. Not only that, but most bottled iced teas are sugar bombs—some with more sugar than you'd find in a candy bar—and in some cases, "tea" is the third ingredient listed after water and high-fructose corn syrup.

Fix it: For a good antioxidant fix without the sugar overdose, go with Honest Tea Community Green Tea. It had the highest levels of catechins. Or, try some organic kombucha, a form of fermented tea that's low in sugar, high in antioxidants, and full of healthy probiotics.
