The FDA blunder that's
killing 17,000 Americans a year
Dear Reader,

Acetaminophen is a deadly drug. But it's also a household name. You'll find it in practically every medicine cabinet in the country--hiding on the ingredient labels of powerful prescription painkillers and over-the-counter cold medicines alike.

So is it any wonder that Tylenol--yes, Tylenol--sends tens of thousands of people to the hospital every year? Or that 17,000 people die from accidental overdose annually?

I've warned you about acetaminophen many times before. So these statistics might not surprise you. Unfortunately, far too many people have no idea about Tylenol's deadly consequences. So I was pleased to see one very mainstream publication expose these dangers recently. In fact, Consumer Reports publicly slammed the FDA for their gross negligence when it comes to policing popular pain relievers.

Now, the FDA has urged doctors to limit their prescriptions of acetaminophen to dosages of 325 mg or less. But they haven't said word one about the plethora of over the counter products that contain acetaminophen. And these products account for 80 percent of acetaminophen use in the United States.

To make matters worse, dosage instructions on these drugs couldn't be less consistent or clear. And as Consumer Reports points out (and as I've pointed out before), people are dying because of it.

Acetaminophen is also linked to everything from hearing loss to asthma. And the risks of pain-relieving NSAIDs like ibuprofen and motrin are just as notorious. Regular use erodes your gut and raises your risk of lethal cardiac events

Don't get me wrong. I'm not asking you to suffer through your pain. I just want you to know that you have other, safer options for relief.

In fact, I shared a surprising--but extremely effective--alternative for relieving arthritis pain in this month's issue of my newsletter, Logical Health Alternatives. And I've covered many other natural pain relievers in previous issues as well. Subscribers can access all of these articles for free by visiting the archives on my website, www.drpescatore.com.
