The Easiest Way to Burn 150 Calories
Do you watch TV? Even just an hour here or there? If you do, we have a secret. You can burn up to 150 calories during that hour... while you watch!
Researchers ran a quick test using 23 participants. They first let the men and women watch an entire hour of television without moving. Next, they had them watch another hour of TV, but this time they asked the participants to get up and simply step in place during the commercial breaks.
So what happened? During the second hour, the men and women who were physically active for 21 minutes took over 2,000 steps and burned about 150 calories.
If you can get over the fact that you might look a little silly to anyone walking past your front window, getting up and moving about during those long commercial breaks is an easy way to sneak in some extra calorie-burning exercise.
