Dim Your Appetite By Dimming The Lights

There are many of ways to try to cut back on calories. Some people chew their food more. Others try using smaller bowls and plates. Now, a study shows that if you dim the lights and turn on soft music for a fine-dining experience, you also may consume less.
In this study, researchers converted part of a Hardee’s fast-food restaurant into a fine-dining environment. They assumed that those who ate in the nice atmosphere would consume more because they would want to linger longer. Wrong.
They discovered just the opposite. Those who ate in the more formal surroundings ordered the same amount of food but consumed 18 percent fewer calories. And they said they enjoyed their food more.
So light the candles and turn on music by John Coltrane to eat less but still be satisfied.
